Every race on this site can sit in your own post: a live chart in an iframe, an image that links back, or a PNG drawn on your machine and dated to the day you choose. It is free to use, with the credit kept and a link back. Pick a race below and the code is ready. The terms are further down, and they are short.
Leave the date empty for a chart that keeps updating. Set it and the chart stops at that day's end, so your words cannot drift out from under it.
Pick a size that suits your column, or choose Custom and drag the slider to any width. Every size keeps the chart's own shape, and every one of them shrinks to fit a phone rather than running off the side of it.
A hotlinked image always shows the race to date; it cannot freeze. For a frozen picture, use the PNG below, drawn on your machine and dated to your cut.
For newsletters and platforms that only take uploads (Substack, Medium, Mailchimp, Reddit, X), download the chart as a PNG and upload it there. Put the race's link in your caption.
Any race chart on this site may be used somewhere else, free of charge. That covers a blog post, a newsletter, a newspaper, a broadcast, a book, or a classroom. Commercial work counts the same as a personal site. Nobody needs to write and ask. Copy the code above and it works.
Three conditions come with it, and they are the whole of it.
The credit stays. Every chart is drawn with standingschart.com on it. Leave that mark where it is. Do not crop it off, cover it, or paint over it.
The chart links back. A reader who wants the whole season should reach it in one click. So the chart has to be a link to the race page it came from. The code above already does this. If you download an image and place it by hand, put the link in the caption instead, as a real link rather than a bare mention.
The picture is used as drawn. No recoloring, no restyling, no cropping the race down to the part that suits an argument. Drawing your own chart from the numbers is a different thing, and it is entirely allowed with a credit and a link. This condition covers the picture, not the facts inside it.
The chart may sit inside work that is sold. It may not be the thing that is sold. It cannot be packaged, licensed on, or offered as a product or a template of its own.
A chart cannot be used to suggest that this site endorses a team, a product, a wager, or a person. It endorses none of them.
Everything else is unchanged. The numbers stay free to cite, on the terms on the about page. Republishing a whole page is still not covered. The chart is the carve-out, not the door.
What this permission changed about the site itself, since a free grant to commercial pages is a real change and not a detail: standingschart.com still earns nothing and still sells nothing, but its charts now appear in places that do. That is stated plainly on the about page rather than left to be worked out from these terms.
A race that is still being played keeps moving. An embedded chart of a live race updates every night. A sentence written today can end up beside a chart that has moved on. If the words have to stay put, use the frozen version instead. It is dated, and it never changes.
Addresses are meant to last. A chart's address is built from its league, season, and race, the same way its page is, and it is meant to keep working. Even so, this is given away rather than sold, and nothing given away here is guaranteed. If a chart has to appear in something that must run, download it and host it yourself.
If a number turns out to be wrong, the fix reaches every embedded chart on the next nightly run. Known irregularities in the record are listed on the data notes page. Anything not on that page goes to embed@standingschart.com.
What this permission covers. The chart is the site's own drawing, and that drawing is what you are being given permission to use. Scores and standings are facts of history, and the site does not claim to own them. Where each season's numbers came from is named on the chart itself and set out on the data notes page.
The site gives what it has to give, and promises nothing past it. It is not telling you that a particular use is clear of anyone else's rights, because it cannot know. What you publish remains your responsibility.
Write to embed@standingschart.com. The useful asks are concrete: a league, a season, a race that seems to be missing, a size that would fit your layout, a dark version, a number that looks wrong. One person reads these, and you will get a reply.
